SMS Messaging Terms

Last updated: 2026

BookWise sends two kinds of text messages, each with its own separate opt-in: appointment notifications (confirmations and reminders) and two-factor authentication (2FA) verification codes. This page describes how you opt in, what you receive, and how to get help or opt out.

1. Two-Factor Authentication (verification codes)

If you turn on two-factor authentication for your BookWise account, you opt in to receive one-time verification codes by text. You provide your mobile number in your account settings and enable two-factor authentication by checking a consent box that reads:

“By enabling two-factor authentication, I agree to receive one-time verification codes by text message from BookWise at the phone number on my account. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies (a code is sent each time I sign in). Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”

A code is sent only in direct response to a sign-in or an account-security action you initiate (such as a password reset). These messages contain a numeric code and never contain promotional or marketing content. Message frequency depends on how often you sign in. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out of 2FA texts: reply STOP at any time. This disables text-based two-factor authentication on your account, so be sure another sign-in method (your password, and an alternate factor if available) remains available so you are not locked out.

2. Appointment Notifications

When you book an appointment, you may opt in to receive automated appointment-related SMS messages (such as confirmations and reminders) from the business you booked with, sent via BookWise. Promotional or marketing texts require a separate, optional opt-in and are never sent based on your appointment consent alone.

3. Help and Opt-Out

Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact support@bookwise.tech. Reply STOP at any time to opt out; after you reply STOP you will receive one final confirmation message. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase.

4. Privacy

We do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing. For details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.

5. Contact

BookWise is operated by Cong Dinh (sole proprietor), based in San Jose, California, USA. For questions about these messaging terms, contact support@bookwise.tech.
